All data comes from the US Census Bureau, mostly from the American Community Survey (ACS). The map templates were adapted from an early version of USA Counties.svg available on Wikimedia Commons. Modifications have been made to account for boundary and name changes (especially in Alaska) over time based on data available on the US Census Bureau’s Cartographic Boundary Files. Changes to US counties since 1970 are available on the US Census Bureau's Technical Documentation pages.
